Sakitsu Church in Amakusa, Kumamoto
Sakitsu Church is a small historical church in the Sakitsu village, Amakusa city, Kumamoto.
Christianity was oppressed in Japan in the Edo era (about 400 years ago), so the Christian hid the faith during 250 years.
Now, It is registered as one of The World Cultural Heritage Candidate “Hidden Christian Sites in the Nagasaki Region".
Sakitsu Church sometimes emerges as a beautiful silhouette covered by sea fog in winter morning. Unfortunately, I couldn't meet the beautiful scene in my travel.
